The workshop was titled ” Executing An Action Programme to Protect Working Children and to Combat And Eliminate Child Labour”.
The objective of the workshop was to empower selected assisted schools and teachers on child labour as a trade union and national issue as well.
The programme also aimed to educate participants on the laws that were in place for children, for e.g. The child welfare decree, child protection policy and ERP .
Child labour focal points also shared their experiences and discussed forms of assistance that could be provided to assist needy children, their families and communities. These recommendations and a national action plan for FTUC would be utilised to seek more funding from international donors.
The FTUC wishes to acknowledge participants who took their Saturday out and those who travelled from interior schools and communities to be part of the programme.
